The Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota is recruiting a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Pulmonary Hypertension to join the Pulmonary Hypertension section of the Cardiovascular Division.

About the Job:

The primary role and responsibilities of this position are to develop a multipronged research program in pulmonary hypertension centered on basic science and translational research and to provide patient care for the pulmonary hypertension patient population.

This position will be 75% research and 25% clinical care in cardiology and pulmonary hypertension.

We seek physician-scientist candidates with expertise in pulmonary hypertension research to develop research and advanced clinical expertise for this patient population. They will also be expected to conduct research as Principal Investigator, maintain a track record of grant-funded research, author manuscripts for peer- reviewed journals, and develop collaborations. Responsibilities of this position also include mentorship of trainees.

 

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate qualifications in education, research, and clinical care.

Specific requirements for the position are:

1. MD or MD/PhD or equivalent;

2. Internal Medicine board certification or board eligible;

3.  Experience and knowledge of both general cardiology and pulmonary hypertension;

4. Research experience in pulmonary hypertension;

5. Demonstrated history of successful external research funding or evidence of potential for

obtaining external research funding;

6. Evidence of a publication record in relevant peer-reviewed journals;

7. A Minnesota medical license.
