The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking an academic pathologist for a full-time faculty appointment on the Clinical Scholar Pathway (non-tenure) at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor academic rank. Board eligibility or certification in Anatomic Pathology is required. The candidate must have Gastroenterology/Liver Pathology fellowship training and/or 5+ years of post-residency experience focused on gastrointestinal and liver pathology. Additionally, departmental leadership opportunities can be discussed based on experience and interest. The candidate will join fellowship-trained and experienced gastrointestinal pathologists in the Division of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Vermont Medical Center, which is the academic hospital in the UVM Health Network. The Department serves as a regional reference laboratory for Vermont, upstate New York, and upstate New Hampshire, and has approximately 45,000 surgical pathology specimens annually. The candidate should be committed to education of medical students, residents, and surgical pathology fellows. The candidate is expected to pursue scholarly activities and/or clinical research and should provide a description of their academic work and future plans in their cover letter. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides academic effort for an initial 3 years allowing our new faculty to develop scholarly and educational activities aligned with their interests.
