The program at VA Northern California Healthcare System is comprised of active research projects at laboratories on both Mather and Martinez campuses. Annual research includes direct VA support (including NIH and DOD funded programs) and the balance administered by the VA affiliated non-profit research corporation, East Bay Institute for Research and Education (EBIRE), and the University of California Davis to pursue scientific investigation into issues related to the medical care of veterans.
