The position will be responsible for coordinating and supporting privacy functions and initiatives specifically related to research occurring throughout Children’s Hospital Colorado.  Under direction from the Research Compliance Officer and the Privacy Officer, is directly responsible for assisting stakeholders with compliance with research-related internal Compliance and Business Ethics Plan policies and procedures, internal policies, and state and federal guidelines with an emphasis on the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy and federal requirements.

Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits

Shift: Normal business hours with some flexibility in start and stop time - e.g., 40 hrs per week, weekdays, core support hours 9a-4p

Pay Range: $67,948 - $101,922

PERFORMANCE OF PRIVACY WORK
• Evaluates research study documents and other materials for compliance with privacy-related internal policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conducts  investigations of privacy-related to issues identified through routine business activities and specific inquiries.
• Compiles detailed back-up documentation (e.g., work papers) detailing work.
• Responds to requests for guidance on research privacy-related regulatory requirements.
• Communicates research-related privacy regulatory updates and developments through web-based educational materials, newsletters, email and other means as appropriate.
• Develops training materials, identifies target audiences and delivers education and training to foster and promote awareness and understanding of research-related privacy requirements.

• EDUCATION – Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
• EXPERIENCE – Minimum three years of experience. 
• EQUIVALENCY – Work experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
