The Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Cincinnati Children's (DBE) is seeking an outstanding individual to join a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team.

Biostatistics and Epidemiology Faculty Position at Cincinnati Children's

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or related discipline with post-doctoral training and experience with health research. A demonstrated record of high-quality peer-reviewed publications and ability to successfully compete for grant funding is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of methodologic research, and ability to succeed in team science. The highest priority will be given to candidates who hold a faculty appointment at an academic institution at the rank of Associate Professor, have expertise in clinical trial design and analysis, and have demonstrated leadership in the coordination of multi-site clinical research projects. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We pursue our mission by conducting innovative research led by our faculty, by engaging in multidisciplinary research projects with basic research and clinical divisions of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC), by providing education, training and consultation to students and professionals at CCHMC and the University of Cincinnati (UC), and by working with national research networks to promote clinical and translational research that is designed and conducted in partnership by academic researchers, patients and families, and other stakeholders.

Our 22 faculty and more than 50 staff have expertise in numerous statistical and epidemiological methods that advance understanding of child health and help ensure that the research done at Cincinnati Children's is world class. The Division partners with nearly all of the clinical and translational research programs of Cincinnati Children's. Our faculty conduct independently funded research to develop statistical methods and advance the field of pediatric epidemiology. In addition to conducting research, the Data Management and Analysis Center (DMAC) leverages the statistical and epidemiological expertise of our faculty and staff to expand its ability to support the research enterprise of Cincinnati Children's. It is the largest centralized resource for study design, data management, and statistical analysis solely housed within the organization.

The methodologic expertise, management experience and leadership of DBE faculty have made it possible for us to compete successfully for data coordinating center and methods core awards funded by the National Institutes of Health and other sources. Our group has made a collective commitment to pursue the role of "coordinating center hub" as a strategic priority for the division. Our effort has been rewarded with two of the three largest grants ever awarded to Cincinnati Children's: the Administrative and Coordinating Center for the Bench-to-Bassinet program sponsored by NHLBI, and the Data Management and Coordinating Center for the Rare Disease Clinical Research Network sponsored by NCATS. In addition, DBE faculty lead coordinating center activities and methods cores for a P30 award by NIDDK, for a multi-site longitudinal study of the outcomes of bariatric surgery also funded by NDDK, the Methods Core for a NIAMS-sponsored P30 award and the Food Allergy Research and Education Foundation (FARE) Clinical Network Biobank & Biomarker Discovery Center (BBDC). We are committed to make CCHMC a national leader in the coordination of multi-site clinical research in pediatrics.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

???PhD degree in a related scientific or research field
???Five years related experience in research field research and/or Lab experience AND assisting with the preparation of data for presentation at scientific meetings
???Associate Professor appointment or eligibility required
