Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician leader to join our organization.

Position Highlights –

• Provide leadership for our team of 14 pediatric EM faculty and 4 pediatric APPs who practice in our 18-bed pediatric ED within Baystate Medical Center in Springfield MA.  The pediatric ED team sees ~30,000 visits/year in our state-of-the-art facility which is separate from our adult ED.
• Serve as operational and clinical leader for the team, as well as strategic partner to Baystate Health executive leadership to develop and execute regional goals for our organization.
• Advance the academic mission of the division.  Partner with our fellowship director to oversee our ACGME-approved fellowship in pediatric EM. Faculty appointment at University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate.  Support is available to develop more robust clinical research opportunities for the division.
• Strong pediatric specialty support from Baystate Children’s Hospital which is within the same building.  We have a 7 bed PICU, level III NICU and 53-bed pediatric & adolescent inpatient units.
• Excellent collaboration with adult EM and subspecialty colleagues where shared interests overlap.

Qualifications: 

• ABMS board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department.
• Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring junior faculty and ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.
