Description Job Summary: A microbiology laboratory in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology) seeks a full time Research Assistant I to work on projects related to microbial biobanking. This individual will be involved in a novel translational project that brings together the resources/expertise of the diagnostic and basic microbiology laboratory environments. He/she will perform laboratory protocols that include bacteriologic and fungal culture, along with nucleic acid manipulation. Previous hands-on experience with these techniques is optimal.
