Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) is seeking a Director of Statistical Services for the Clinical Research Institute (CRI) for a leadership opportunity. The CRI promotes patient-oriented research and facilitates the conduct of clinical research for faculty and trainees at TTUHSC. This office is experienced in conducting Phase 1 through Phase IV pharmaceutical and device, industry-sponsored, and investigator-initiated research protocols.

The Director of Statistical Services will be responsible for building and directing a team of biostatisticians/analysts, overseeing all statistical services provided by the CRI. This team, including the Director, will:
Assist faculty and staff with development of research protocols
Determine the most appropriate study design and which statistical tests are appropriate
Perform statistical analyses for assigned studies
Assist with manuscript and presentation development, among other functions

The Director will develop and present educational programs in biostatistics to investigators, students, and research staff on all TTUHSC campuses. The Director will work under general supervision but will be given broad latitude for initiative, autonomy, and independent judgment.
Qualifications The preferred candidate will hold a doctorate in statistics or in a field that has provided extensive training in statistics, such as psychology, social science, or epidemiology. Other qualifications include:
Experience in biostatistics, preferably applicable to clinical research
Working knowledge of SPSS, STATA, and/or SAS statistical programs required
Ability to develop, organize and prepare tables and figures with statistical results for investigators, presentations, and manuscript submission
Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to communicate with investigators
Prior leadership experience preferred
