This role is responsible for supporting the company in the pursuit of clinical evidence that supports our products and demonstrates their value to Hollister’s customers. The Senior Clinical Scientist identifies clinical evidence needs, develops new scientific/clinical hypotheses, interprets registry and clinical study results and communicates findings to internal and external groups, including leading publications in peer reviewed journals. This role also reviews Hollister’s externally facing materials for evidence substantiation and scientific validity.
The Senior Clinical Scientist is responsible for collaborating with external experts, Key Opinion Leaders and agencies as needed and various internal teams (R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Global Quality, Market Access, Global Marketing, etc) to bring new impactful evidence to customers. The Senior Clinical Scientist also guides product development teams on product clinical use, risks and benefits and creates or reviews relevant design control documentation related to these areas.
Author manuscripts and abstracts for submission and lead publications in peer reviewed scientific journals
Lead meaningful evidence presentations to internal & external audiences
Partner with Marketing, Market Access and other cross-functional teams to ensure evidence aligns with business needs
Design clinical research that meets unmet customer and stakeholder needs
Assume Primary Investigator responsibilities for selected studies
Interpret study results, develop conclusions and translate into meaningful messages
Develop evidence plans according to strategic priorities
Deliver clinical/medical input for new product development teams and other business activities
Provide research guidance on external Investigator Initiated Trials
Review promotional materials within therapeutic area
Support Product Development Teams in the evaluation of Product Risk and Design Control Process
Drive continuous improvement in organization processes and products
Conduct Clinical Evaluations of products sold in Europe and author/oversee development of Clinical Evaluation Reports to support the European Medical Device Regulation
Maintain a long-term focus on customer needs

Sitting for extended periods of time.

Work Experience Requirements:
Number of Overall Years Necessary: 8-10
Experience designing and conducting clinical trials or other research
Experience with ostomy and continence care
Experience critically assessing medical/scientific information
Publications within the specialty of practice
An Advance Degree in a scientific or clinical discipline and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience, or
A Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific or clinical discipline and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
