Oral health is an important part of your overall wellbeing. Our experienced dentists and oral surgeons offer everything from general dentistry to complex surgeries and reconstruction.

ABOUT VANDERBILT ORAL HEALTH

Vanderbilt Oral Health includes two clinics: General Dentistry, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Together, these clinics provide a full range of dental services with the expert and compassionate care you expect from Vanderbilt.

GENERAL DENTISTRY

Vanderbilt's experienced dental team provides a full range of services.

* Routine cleanings and check-ups

* Crowns, bridges, dentures and other restoration

* Cosmetic procedures

* Complex dental care for cancer, heart and transplant patients

ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Our team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons is one of the most respected in the region. Our specialties include:

* Wisdom and other tooth extractions

* Dental implants

* Jaw and facial reconstruction

* TMJ repair and replacement

* Surgery for obstructive sleep apnea

Shift Hours:

This is a PRN position. Candidate selected will work as needed on specified days and as a fill-in for when staff members are using Paid Time Off.

The clinic is open Monday - Friday; Days.

Your Role:

* Conducts preventive, therapeutic, cosmetic and other dental services for patients with some guidance as prescribed by a dentist. Consults with dentist regarding unusual circumstances.

Preferred Education, Skills, and Experiences:

  • Strong customer service experience is critical for this position

  • Ability to get the job done and maintain a smooth clinic flow

  • Team player

  • Detail-oriented

  • Experience performing dental hygienist duties

  • 2+ years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant (highly desired)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts oral health and hygiene evaluations.

  • Performs dental hygienist duties.

  • Prepares patient for procedure and/or exam.

  • Provides patient with instructions.

  • Maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

PATIENT EXAM ROOM CARE - (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient exam room care in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

DENTAL TERMINOLOGY (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate dental terminology in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

STERILIZATION PREPARATION (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate sterilization preparation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.

PATIENT DOCUMENTATION - (NOVICE): - Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate patient documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
