As an expert clinical researcher, promotes quality trauma care through the coordination and continual development of the research and education components of the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center. Promotes advancement of research and innovation in trauma and acute care through advancement and organization of research program.

Participates in the Trauma Center Performance Improvement process, and day to day clinical operations as necessary to identify opportunities for research.
Coordinates the clinical protocols and investigations within the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center.
Assists with the development and refinement of research questions and hypotheses.
Prepares, submits, and maintains research protocols to the IRB complying with federal, state, and institutional review board guidelines governing the use of human subjects.
Conducts literature searches, reviews pertinent journals, abstracts and other literature, abstracts data from the trauma registry related to research protocols and investigations.
Maintains study records and uses standard case report forms where study dictates.
Submits bi-annual reports on approved protocols for the IRB for re-approval and continued participation or study closure.
Coordinates multi-center/multi-institutional studies/protocols within the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center.
Provides quality assurance for the clinical protocols and investigations within the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center.
Assures compliance with approved study protocol. Reviews all protocol deviations, missing or lost data. Communicates all protocol deviations to the IRB, Principal Investigator and other departmental representatives as applicable.
Applies in-depth knowledge of research to analyze the data results from clinical protocols and investigations within the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center. Assesses validity of research data.
Utilizes computer software to provide statistical analysis and summary of the research data.
Assists in the preparation of the clinical protocol/investigation results for presentation/publication.
Assists the Principal Investigator in the development of the scientific paper.
Explores opportunities for trauma-related research publications and presentations. Assists in the preparation of the scientific presentation/publication.
Explores and evaluates opportunities for federal, state, private and institutional funding for the Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center. Seeks out and identifies internal and external sources of research funding.
Assists in the writing and submission of a grant application. Coordinates activities associated with receiving funding.
In collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager ensures compliance with Level 1 Trauma Center Designation criteria.
Ensures adequate documentation of research committee activities. Prepares all research and physician CME documentation to be presented as evidence during re-verification/ designation reviews.
Participates in injury prevention and education activities for the purpose of identifying opportunities for research.
Develops and maintains all pertinent documentation relevant to a study, such as IRB forms, data collection, and consents in a manner compliant with all regulations and HIPPA.
Actively participates in patient enrollment in studies.
Provides monthly summary on all projects to faculty.
Collaboration with other investigators, internal and external to enhance regional participation.
Provide input and planning of state scientific meetings for Trauma.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent interpersonal, communications skills and proven ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
Certification by the Association of Clinical Research Personnel (ACRP) must be obtained within three years of hire.
Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
One year experience in related research field, public health, or epidemiology.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Science, Healthcare, Public Health, Epidemiology or related field.
