Christiana Care health System is currently seeking a full-time Medical Physicist to work primarily in the Radiation Oncology Department at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. The position will also provide coverage at the main hospital with rotations as assigned. The selected candidate for the position will interact on a daily basis with the radiation oncology team to provide state-of-the-art clinical physics services for both HDR and LDR brachytherapy and external beam.

There is an inpatient medical / hematologic oncology unit of 29 beds with a separate bone marrow transplant unit.
The Medical Physics section has currently 8 medical physicists and 8 dosimetrists. Our clinic provides conventional 3D, IMRT, VMAT, and a robust SBRT/SRS services as well as HDR and LDR brachytherapy. The practice at Union has 1 Varian TrueBeam linac with ARIA R&V, and 1 dedicated Siemens CT simulator with 4D CT capability. At the main cancer center campus there are 3 Elekta linacs (Infinity and Versa), and one CyberKnife with Mosaiq R&V. Four Siemens CT simulators with 4D CT capability, and with advanced dual-energy (Siemens Edge) are available in the department. MR and PET/CT imaging is provided for simulation as needed from Radiology Department. Pinnacle, MultiPlan, RayStation, Variseed, and Oncentra are used for treatment planning for all sites. Christiana has a busy HDR (Elekta-Nucletron) for partial breast, gynecology, and skin. We also provide LDR (prostate implant) brachytherapy at several sites using CT, MR, and TRUS for simulation. The candidate is expected to contribute to the Medical Physics residency program, which is CAMPEP approved since 2013 and is part of the Thomas Jefferson University training program.
Requirements: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Radiological or Medical Physics required. Minimum of three years work experience in radiation oncology physics required. Must be board certified in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
