Description Facilitates patient care by assisting physicians/nursing staff before, during and after surgical procedures by creating and maintaining, a sterile field and providing the instruments and supplies required by the surgeons in a sterile manner according to established plan for patient care with occasional guidance. Must be able to perform competently most of the cases in a given service/shift.
This role assists the physician during procedure by ensuring the equipment is ready, the room is clean and turned over and the right supplies are present. The individual selected will assist during the procedure by helping obtain biopsies, retrieving unexpected equipment, assisting with patient care or assisting in an emergency. In addition, the candidate selected is also responsible for restocking the rooms, pre-cleaning the scope prior to being brought into the cleaning room. This position will cover three different areas of the GI Endoscopy Lab.
