JOB SUMMARY:
Geisinger Health is a leader in the healthcare space, well known for its innovative approaches in providing best patient care. Unified Data Architecture (UDA) is a latest generation data platform built on Big Data technology stack, well positioned to support Geisinger Health’s core motive of providing best patient care.
Primary duties include building and maintaining modules for ingesting, processing and integrating real time and batch data in a big data environment. Programming for a Big Data distributed computing environment using Java, Scala or similar object-oriented programming languages. Collaboration and participation in the design and implementation of various projects. Involves high-level participation in the design and management of a computational infrastructure for different purposes including applied medical research.

Demonstrates creative and innovative thinking with a focus on novel approaches to solving computational and analytic challenges.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Experience:
Minimum of six years information technology related experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
If a suitably experienced candidate cannot be found, applicants who meet the basic qualifications but possess fewer years of experience will be considered for hire at a lower level. Salary would commensurate with experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Will be working in an office environment. Will be working on a personal computer 80% of the work day. May be required to travel off site for projects and /or meetings.
