Responsible for providing technical support under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Level II Research Pharmacy Technician's duties include:
Receiving investigational products into inventory
Preparation of investigational products for dispensing, including sterile compounding
Inventory tracking and maintenance including drug expiration updates
Tracking and processing drug returns and replacements
Utilizing various equipment and technology available in pharmacy
Managing and maintaining study documentations and investigational product accountability
Assisting in various quality control tasks to ensure compliance to institutional, state and federal regulatory policies
Participating in the training and orientation of new technicians and pharmacy students
Other duties as assigned
High school graduate or currently enrolled of accredited entry-level degree program for pharmacy or related field
Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy Registration as Pharmacy Technician
National Pharmacy Technician Certification required
At least two years of pharmacy technician experience, with at least one year of experience in an inpatient pharmacy or oncology compounding pharmacy.
Previous experience with sterile compounding is required.
