Associate Program Director, Addiction Hub (Psychologist)

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a full-time clinical psychologist to serve as the Associate Program Director of a new Addiction Treatment Hub for Middle Tennessee. This is a significant leadership position which will include the development of new clinical programming and supervision of five to eight clinical staff members. The ideal candidate will have the requisite skills to help supervise a large clinical team, to develop new clinical operations, to develop and oversee budgets, to communicate with internal and external funding agencies, and to develop partnerships with outside health care organizations and recovery support services. An entrepreneurial drive will be encouraged. The ideal candidate will also have clinical experience at the intersection of general behavioral health and addiction treatment. Experience with couples and family therapy would be advantageous but not required in this role.
This position will include a mix of both administrative and clinical work in collaboration with the program director and other department leadership. It may include opportunities for clinical teaching and supervision and teaching seminars for trainees in psychology and psychiatry. There may also be opportunities to be involved in research activities, either joining existing projects or conducting independent research.
The position is full-time and would have a primary appointment in the Vanderbilt Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Qualified applicants should have specialty training, education, and clinical experience related to addiction. Applicants should be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist with health service provider designation in Tennessee. Performs individual assessment and treatment of patients, which may include family, couples, and/or group counseling and psychotherapy, using treatment modalities indicated for that population and/or condition.
Accurately documents treatment sessions or assessments in patient's medical record in a timely manner.
Prepares diagnostic and status reports on patients.
Provides clinical supervision of graduate students, interns, social workers, and other members of the clinical team
Develops new clinical operations
Develops and oversees program budgets
Communicates with internal and external funding agencies
Develops partnerships with outside health care organizations and recovery support services

Licensed or License-eligible as a PhD/PsyD with health service provider designation in Tennessee
