The Contract Analyst of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) will implement contracting best practices and provide exceptional support to internal and external clients of CHRISTUS Health System, CHRISTUS Institute for Innovation & Advanced Clinical Care (CIIACC) partners and affiliates. He/she will prepare, review and negotiate budgets, contracts, subcontracts, subawards, amendments, modifications, renewals, extensions and data user agreements with academic institutions, medical centers, corporate entities, private foundations and non-Federal and state sponsors. The Contract Analyst will work very closely with the CHRISTUS Legal Department to vet and execute contracts. He/she will develop and oversee customer-focused contracting services that facilitate the acquisition and administration of research grants and clinical trials.
Works collaboratively with the Institutional Official, IRB, the Office of Research, Regional leadership, Foundation offices, clinical researchers, and affiliated academic institutions and programs to achieve the objectives of the CIIACC research program.
Works with the CHRISTUS Health Grant Management Steering Committee to develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures regarding grant management.
Partners with the regional facility research teams to centralize and standardize processes and ensure consistency and transparency.
Prepares, reviews and negotiates contracts with academic institutions, medical centers, corporate entities, private foundations regarding clinical research grants and clinical trials.
Prepares, reviews and negotiates new subawards, subcontracts, amendments, modifications, renewals, and extensions for all non-Federal and state grants and contracts.
Prepares data sharing agreements between CIIACC and partners to enable collaboration and sharing of Protected Health Information.
Prepares contracts between CHRISTUS and independent physicians, practices and other entities.
Develops and implements contracting best practices to support the development of a best-in-class research program.
Assists in writing Letters of Intent required for all Federal awards, as needed.
Ensures all contract documents are submitted by the appropriate deadline.
Documents and maintains all records related to contracts submitted for approval, revisions and fully executed versions.
Assists in the development of cost allocation proposals as needed.
Creates master agreements with organizations to enable collaborative partnerships with CIIACC.
Develops and maintains routing sheets to ensure the review and approval process of grants, contracts and budgets.
Works with the CHRISTUS Legal Services Department to review, revise and prepare contracts for negotiation.
Establishes and maintains professional relationships with national and state regulatory authorities, accreditation organizations, external academia, healthcare and research organizations.
Develops and administers live and on-demand education and training program for investigators and research associates regarding contracting and processes.
Works with the research team to develop, implement and communicate policies and procedures regarding grant management.
Represents the organization at professional conferences and committees as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Management, Purchasing or other related field required, Master's degree preferred.
Strong negotiation skills required.
Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and analytic skills required.
Extensive customer service interactions required.
Knowledge of the new 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance Federal Regulations highly preferred.
Must have the ability to work independently.
Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
Three to five years of experience required working in a sponsored programs environment, preferably in research.
Three years of experience creating and negotiating contracts preferred.
Experience dealing with federal and state agencies and knowledge of their funding guidelines preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Certified Research Administrator Certificate preferred
