Join the senior practice and regional leader for Pain Management in Northern California. The Napa Pain Institute (est. 1992) seeks a Nurse Practitioner who is, or is committed to becoming a leader in caring for patients with chronic pain and related neurological disorders. As part of our team, Nurse Practitioners are central to the patient experience and to the patients' clinical outcomes. Our NPs apply diagnostic and treatment skills including interventional procedures (some with ultrasound), management of implanted devices, and care coordination. Since 1996, the Napa Pain Institute has been a leader in clinical research for pain medicine. We support continuing education and professional development for all of our staff, and organize annual CME conferences in Napa and Kauai. There are abundant clinical research and teaching opportunities in our organization. Today, the specialty of pain management is exploding with opportunities to help our patients. At the Napa Pain Institute, we carefully establish the right diagnosis, coordinate the care of many involved providers, offer minimally invasive interventions, place implanted devices (neuromodulation) for pain, and safely manage medications of many classes for the treatment of symptoms related to chronic pain. For this position, we are looking for a Nurse Practitioner with clinical skills in Pain or a closely related field. Must possess or be able to obtain a California state Nursing license as an NP with DEA and California furnishing license and a Masters Degree with Advanced Practice National Certification. 3. Must be BLS certified and remain current. 4. Must be able to work autonomously within the California NP scope of practice, under the direction of a supervising physician, and within practice policies. 5. Strong time management skills with proven abilities to prioritized and work in a fast-paced environment. 6. Able to provide a comprehensive medical evaluation, including diagnosis and treatment plans for patients in acute or chronic pain. 7. Ability to identify procedures, prescribe pharmaceuticals, DME, and treatment regimens as appropriate for our patients. 8. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 9. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required. 10. Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention standards. 11. Manage chronic medication regimens while following all state and federal compliance regulations. 12. Preferred: Bilingual, 3+ years of Pain Management experience, and interest in clinical research.
