This position will serve as clinical research coordinator and provide professional nursing support of clinical research conducted as part of the Lone Star Stroke Clinical Trial Network.
Administer and monitor research protocols, identify potential study subjects, instruct and counsel patients in research procedures, obtain consent, and record and monitor research data.
Work with institutional offices including the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Clinical Trials Office, and the Institutional Review Board to develop contracts, protocol submissions, modifications and any other requirements needed during the conducting of clinical trials.
Assist faculty with the development of study sites for the research network including monitoring and training of site research staff in research protocol requirements, monitoring screening activities for identification of potential study subjects, and site enrollment rates into research protocols.
Maintain study data and files in an organized manner. Monitor quality of study data obtained. Submit data to coordinator center and respond to data queries in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree and a current Texas Registered Nurse license with five (5) years nursing experience in the designated study area.
Preferred Requirements: BSN with research experience and five years of nursing experience related to stroke clinical care and/or research.
