We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardio-Research Department. Hours are 8 am – 4 pm. The selected Registered Nurse will develop and implement cardiovascular research and act as a liaison with study sponsors, grants and research and clinical departments. Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Promoting and marketing interest in clinical research projects to physicians and surrounding non-medical community
Establishing and maintaining Study Regulatory File in compliance with GCP and FDA guidelines
Preparing protocols for IRB submission and maintains appropriate IRB correspondence for ongoing protocols
Preparing and files adverse event reports in accordance with internal SOP’s, sponsor and FDA mandated guidelines
Coordinating research projects with ancillary hospital departments
Attending appropriate research meetings monthly; inter and intra-departmental meetings and investigators meetings as needed
Establishing mechanism for capturing and reporting adverse events
Communicating effectively and timely with study sponsors, principle investigators, peers and staff members, and all other healthcare providers as required
Must have BSN (Master’s Degree preferred), a valid NJ Nursing License, BLS and a minimum of 3 years of Cardiac/Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting as a Registered Nurse. Previous research experience preferred. Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
