The Section of General Internal Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) is seeking a General Internist with certification/experience in Addiction Medicine to work with our medical team in providing primary care and an office based Opioid Treatment (OBOT). This position is outpatient only and will compliment a new inpatient addiction service. In addition to clinical responsibilities this position offers the incumbent the opportunity to serve as a mentor/preceptor for Temple medical students. Qualified candidates will possess academic credentials that qualified for appointment at the Assistant/Associate Professor level and be in possession of or eligible to receive a license to practice medicine without restriction in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
The Section of General Internal Medicine, LKSOM provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to its patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, while teaching the fundamentals of general internal medicine to the health care providers of the future. Members of the Section of General Internal Medicine also play key roles in the care of patients with HIV. Faculty are involved in numerous educational and research programs in areas such as clinical skills training, physician-patient communications, ambulatory medical education and clinical trials. Currently there are 19 full-time faculty whose interests include medical education, obesity, HIV Medicine, integrative medicine, behavioral health and geriatrics.
