The Vocational Therapist is responsible for the management of the Vocational programs for residential rehab and outpatient rehab clients. Duties include the vocational evaluation of clients, coordination and communication with multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement client voc rehabilitation programs, vocational counseling, development of vocational plans, and indirect support of a cadre of job coaches. The vocational specialist also maintains relationships with community referral sources, maintain relationships with employers to maintain or secure job and volunteer placements within the community, The Vocational Specialist also assists in finding subcontact work or work projects for internal employment within Rainbow Rehabilitation Centers Vocational Centers. This position will share time between our two Vocational Settings in Oakland County and Washtenaw County.
Master Degree or Higher in Rehabilitation Counseling
Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
1-2 years of experience in the vocational rehabilitation field or rehabilitation setting
Experience in creating, implementing, and leading projects
Ability to set and act on priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability and willingness to learn new skills
Ability and wiliness to set priorities
Ability to work as part on an interdisciplinary team and serve as a team member
Ability to lift, maneuver and carry up to 30lbs.
High level of interpersonal skills
Acceptable driving record
Acceptable under the State of Michigan Good Moral Character Statute
Acceptable under Public Act 218, Public Act 116, and the Rules as Promulgated by The Department of Human Services.
Knowledgeable of HIPAA Privacy Rules
Administrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
