The Research Coordinator manages research project activities ensuring the quality and integrity of data collection. The Study Coordinator will work directly with Dr. In to implement project protocols, develop systems to manage project administration, assist in developing new grant applications and project proposals.
List of Responsibilities -
Create study materials for new projects including developing survey materials, translation of recruitment materials and study materials, develop recruitment tracking systems, set up database for data collection and training of staff and interns in the administration and data collection for studies, which also includes assisting with identifying and addressing any local barriers to protocol development or clinical study initiation.
Manage data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
Partner with departmental IT resources in the development of databases; data coding manuals and data entry guidelines.
Assist with routine statistical analysis and reports
Provide analysis of data for rapid evaluation of study results and provide pilot data for grant submissions. (This requires knowledge of excel and access databases as well as some basic knowledge of statistics and statistical packages like SAS professional.)
Work with PI to develop the study protocol and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including the development of new measures.
Responsible for the timely submission of initial and continued Einstein IRB, BRANY IRB and Central Protocol and Data Management Unit (CPDMU) approval for our site and collaborating institution sites.
Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI, study funding agency and the IRB.
Work with Departmental Administrator to develop and monitor project budgets.
Represent the study at internal and external academic meetings and community events. Act as a liaison to project partners to discuss new procedures that could be implemented.
Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, oral presentations, and poster presentations, and participate in the development of manuscripts for publication.
Assist with developing grant applications (new and competing renewals) and project protocols including support for pilot research, literature review, and communication with collaborators and physicians.
Arrange meetings of study partners, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate meetings.
Master's Degree in related health and/or public health related field
At least 2-5 years of related experience in clinical research and public health
Skills and Competencies-
Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail are essential. Must be able manage competing priorities.
Must have sufficient copy-writing & editing skills for document, manuscript and grant proposal preparation
Can be relied upon to ensure that activities within areas of specific responsibility are completed in a timely manner and within budget
Outline project goals and time-lines and reviews progress at defined intervals.
Must demonstrate proven knowledge of SPSS, SAS, or other statistical software and ability to perform data management and analysis.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to apply technology to resolve problems.
Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential.
Scope of Responsibility -
This position reports to Dr. Haejin In, faulty in the departments of Surgery and Epidemiology & Population Health, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. This person will interact with PIs, departmental administrators, finance personnel, as well as research subjects and multicultural community.
