We are currently seeking a Director of Human Subject Research to oversee the operations of the IRB office, coordinate closely with the IRB Chair, and help facilitate the activities of the Board. Reporting to the Vice President of Research and Health Services, the Director’s primary role includes:
provide overall direction and oversight for IRB administration,
coordinate with IRB Chair and IRB staff to organize and facilitate monthly IRB meetings and other activities of the Board,
supervise IRB staff,
maintain appropriate research policies governing human subjects research
develop and implement an Institution-wide educational program related to human subjects research as well as the IRB application process.
Participate in conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities to maintain licensure and/or remain professionally current with advances in field of expertise.
Participate in multidisciplinary task forces, committees and projects, demonstrating team spirit and ability to work with different internal customer
Maintains and formats documents in the IRB Manager.
Master’s degree in relevant health field preferred
Minimum 10 years’ experience in research administration/research compliance role at a hospital or university
Extensive knowledge of Office for Human Research Protections and Food and Drug Administration regulations and oversight involving human subject research
Supervisory experience and ability to coordinate work of others essential
Demonstrated ability to enable customer-friendly service to Institutional medical and professional staff
Demonstrated excellence in project management
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge and experience in the software program IRB Manager
