MedStar Health Research Institute, the research arm of the largest healthcare provider in Maryland and the Washington, D.C., region, seeks a Manager, Office of Research Integrity (ORI) to join our acclaimed staff at our MedStar Health Research Institute headquarters in Hyattsville, Md.
In this role, you will implement, manage and oversee the various ORI programs, including the Human Research Protections Program; oversee, coordinate, and manage daily operations of the ORI, including the supervision and management of support staff; and your assistance and guidance to investigators and their research staff on federal and institutional regulations/policies will be critical in preserving the integrity of the scientific record.
Ensure the adherence to federal regulations, policies, and accrediting body standards for day-to-day operations by ORI office
Implement the strategic direction of ORI workflow and coordination of ORI resources to meet regulatory committee metrics as established by the Director of ORI.
Ensure ORI meets requirements for the appropriate maintenance of IRB records and availability for inspection, including quality control for database entries and document files for submissions
Apply expert knowledge in the application of federal regulations for the protection of human research subjects, animal care and use, biosafety principles
Perform pre-review of regulatory committee submission to ensure compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies, with a focus on more advanced submission types
Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s preferred)
Must have CIP (Certified IRB Professional)
At least seven years in research administration experience, including IRB, IBC and IACUC
Minimum three years in supervision and management of staff (five years preferred)
IRB: Knowledge of federal regulations such as 21 CFR 50, 56, and 312; 45 CFR 46, 45 CFR 164, etc.
IACUC: Knowledge of Animal Welfare Act
IBC: Knowledge of NIH Guidelines
