Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary.
Patient enrollment: Verify patient conformity to inclusion/exclusion criteria prior to patient enrollment in the research study; Discuss potential candidates with PI; Obtain informed consent; Actively recruit for Studies; Educate dialysis nurses and office staff regarding studies.
Case Report Forms (CRFs): Create and maintain accurate and complete source documents for each patient. Work with physicians to ensure completeness and accuracy of necessary clinical information; Facilitate sponsor monitoring visits.
Specimen Collection: Collect urine and draw blood samples from each study patient in accordance with study protocol specifications and OSHA standards; Centrifuge blood samples and aliquots serum/plasma as specified in protocol; Responsible for proper specimen storage and preparation of specimen for transport to the lab; Communicate unexpected abnormal lab values to physicians; Monitor outdates and lab kit supplies and resupply as needed.
Management of Investigational Products: Receive and store study medication. Keep daily temperature logs for room, refrigerator, and freezer to monitor excursions. Dispense study drug medication and maintain accurate dispensation and accountability records.
Regulatory Management: Continuous correspondence with IRB and sponsor(s) including informed consent, protocol, interim status reports, advertisement and safety reports; Report serious adverse event (SAE) to study sponsor(s) and IRB; Submit and Maintain Regulatory Documents as required.
Budgets/Contracts: Assists in formulating study budgets and study contracts. Continuous communication with CFO regarding study payments.
Bachelor’s degree or Nursing degree from an accredited college/university
Minimum of three years of clinical research experience.
Exemplary communication skills
CPR certification within 1 month of hire
IATA and GCP certification required
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn various data capture systems
Knowledge and understanding ICH, HIPAA and other federal regulations regarding research.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Overall understanding of research protocol objectives and design.
Knowledge and understanding of FDA and federal regulations regarding research.
